Responsibilities

As an Apparel Technical Designer, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting design’s intent from development through production. You will preserve fit consistency using models and dress forms. You will be required to schedule and lead fit sessions. You will fit athletes for both custom and competition use and adaptation to commercial apparel sales. In this role, you will create and maintain technical aspects of the tech pack, including detailed construction sketches, sewing instructions, measurement verification and tolerances, graded measurement specs, fit evaluations, and pattern corrections. You will identify potential construction, costing, fit, production, and quality issues and make recommendations to management to resolve these issues. You will partner with team members in block pattern development. You will track and manage workflow to ensure that seasonal deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles or a related major. Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design.
  • Experience with performance apparel and athlete fittings as well as fitting, pattern making, and specs.
  • Strong understanding of product engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills required.
  • Organization and time management skills are essential.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Excel and Illustrator.
  • International travel required.
